Sync Buddy requires Salesforce API access therefore it currently works with Salesforce Enterprise and Unlimited Edition, or Professional Edition with the API enabled. We are actively looking to change this and if you would like to be notified when we are able to work with other editions please contact us.

Sync Buddy works on Android with the third party CalDAV Sync and CardDAV Sync apps (available on the Google Play store).
Sync Buddy works with the native Apple Contacts, Calendar and Reminder apps as well as third party apps including BusyCal and Fantastical.
Any Windows application that supports the CalDAV and CardDAV standards will work with Sync Buddy. Microsoft Outlook unfortunately does not support these standards although there is a third party plugin which does add CalDAV and CardDAV support.
With the Outlook plugin, your computer needs to run Outlook and be switched on. Any changes are only reflected on your device (Mac, iPhone or iPad) when the plugin synchronises Salesforce with your email system.
With Sync Buddy, any changes to Salesforce are reflected on any of your devices that use the service even if you are out of the office.

In order to provide the service we do store your Accounts, Contacts, Tasks and Events in an encrypted form. We use public key cryptography so that we are unable to read this information – it can only be decrypted by you when you use your password to access the service.
Sync Buddy provides a CardDAV and CalDAV service for Salesforce. These are open standards for storing contact and calendar information (in Salesforce these are Accounts, Contacts, Tasks and Events) on servers.
This means that Salesforce is the master store for all of this information. Your Mac, iPhone or iPad connects to the system and retrieves the information. Any updates are pushed back into Salesforce.
